concerning the European Economic Area (EEA), concluded between the Member
countries of the European Free Trade Area (EFTA) and the Member
countries of the European Union (EU) extending the internal market of the European Community to Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. Switzerland was the sole EFTA
country to reject ratification of the EEA Agreement
in December 1992. The EEA Agreement
came into force on 1 January 1994.
